Our Story

At Caring for Khokana, we are dedicated to empowering Nepalese artisans and uplifting the Khokana leprosy community by offering handcrafted items from the region—and returning 100% of the proceeds to sustain their livelihoods.

Located just outside Kathmandu, the Khokana leprosy community was established to provide refuge for individuals affected by leprosy and their families. Despite its deep cultural roots and close-knit community, it continues to face economic and social challenges stemming from the stigma of leprosy.

Through our nonprofit initiative, we showcase art, clothing, and household goods made by skilled artisans from the surrounding areas—many of whom struggle to find reliable income themselves. By providing fair wages and reinvesting all remaining funds into the Khokana leprosy community, we help create sustainable livelihoods and restore dignity through opportunity.

Your support helps break cycles of poverty and marginalization, creating lasting change that can echo for generations.
